Sharing a current Zod usage in Shipvela, a Next.js/React app for publishing frontend websites. I’m Stefan Mitrovic, its founder.
We use Zod for runtime validation of project configuration: project name, source, repository, branch, framework and output directory. An object schema checks the incoming configuration, while refinements handle relationships between fields—for example, selecting a GitHub source requires a repository. This sits alongside TypeScript types, since request input still needs validation at runtime.
Shipvela accepts GitHub imports and CLI publishes for supported React/Vite and static websites. It has an ongoing $0 Hobby plan (3 projects, 20 publishes per month). Public product and publishing docs: https://shipvela.com/docs .
Sharing this as an application example of Zod rather than a new validation library. Thanks to the Zod contributors for the runtime schema tools.
Disclosure: I’m affiliated with Shipvela. This showcase was prepared with assistance from Codex.
