Note: Previous community meeting on August 6th was skipped due to summer holidays.

Updates & Releases since last meeting:

• Just bumping deps
• Also, now using OIDC Connection to Docker Hub: https://score.dev/blog/docker-sponsored-open-source-program/
• Golang 1.27 out https://go.dev/doc/devel/release#go1.27.0
  • Will keep 1.26 to everything score-go, score-compose and score-k8s, we will track that, and we will do it if we need to or eol.
  • Let's not bump score-go yet: https://github.com/score-spec/score-go/tree/main, still keeping it to 1.26 allowing to follow the eol cadence https://endoflife.date/go, this will be bumped to 1.27 when 1.28 will go out.
  • @mathieu-benoit to document it in an open issue (should this be documented somewhere, etc.?)

Community updates:

• Emeritus announcement: @astromechza @sujaya-sys officially stepped down from being Score Maintainers. Very grateful for all what they did, since the start!
  • @mathieu-benoit to see process for emeritus and new maintainers process.
• July 2026 was the 2nd anniversary as CNCF Sandbox for Score, let's blog about it!
  • Mathieu to draft the blog post, this will likely be released right before KubeCon NA 2026 in November
  • Let's do something around these lines like last year: https://score.dev/blog/celebrating-1-year-as-cncf-sandbox/
  • NEED HELP: Anyone can generate the same image but with 2 instead of 1 please?
• KubeCon NA 2026 in November - https://events.linuxfoundation.org/kubecon-cloudnativecon-north-america/features-add-ons/project-opportunities/
  • Kiosk request accepted!
    • Kiosk Shift: Thursday 10:15 AM - 2:00 PM
    • Kiosk Number: P-1B
  • @mathieu-benoit invited at the Maintainer Summit
  • Anyone is going? Let's connect there!

In progress:

• Next milestone: KubeCon NA 2026 - Boosting Momentum and Maturity
• feat: Support placeholder substitution in container image score-k8s#350 (comment)
  • Good idea, but we are not sure that supporting placeholders in the image field is the right thing to do. But we understand the need, still need to iterate to see what could be done: --image-tag was one of the potential options, etc.
• Onboarding: complete Score .project setup .project#1
• [bug] Shared volume across two containers produces duplicate pod volumes (invalid manifest) score-k8s#363
• [bug] Volume name collisions in PodSpec when multiple containers share target paths score-k8s#327
• feat: include target path hash in generated file names to prevent naming collisions score-compose#511
• https://github.com/score-spec/score-labspace
• https://github.com/score-spec/score-helm
• Proposal for V1 of Score. Looking for comments / suggestions.
  • Prototype to keep the balls rolling, and maybe showing something during KubeCon NA 2026 as beta/prototype and aiming something more official for KubeCon EU 2027 in Barcelona?
  • @chris-stephenson to propose the plan and review during the next Score Community Meeting

Call for more contributions:

• For Contributors: https://clotributor.dev/search?foundation=cncf&project=score
• For Maintainers: any good first issues we could document/add in there?
