The public Router price list said that some partner image and video models, including xAI's Grok image models, cost a fixed amount per second of Comfy GPU time. They are actually billed by what the partner reports, so the page now says that. Two Grok image models now carry a warning about their retirement: xAI retires one on Nov 2, 2026, and the other was already retired on May 15, 2026 and now follows the same path. One wrong Partner Node price is also fixed.
Provenance
Authored by: agent-work loop
Verified:
bun test ./.github/scripts/: 338 pass, 0 fail.
bun run code-pages:check and bun run router-pricing:check: fresh.
The xAI retirement dates and redirects were read from xAI's May 15 and Nov 2 migration pages.
The es partner pricing aggregate matches its stored block hashes, and four es blocks stay pending retranslation.
git diff --check clean.
Deviations:
Locale copies of the two Router model pages are not edited here (see Residual).
The GPU-second fix removes the GPU-second rate from every row, not only the xAI ones (see "Judgment calls").
What changed
Router pricing generator (gen-router-pricing.ts): a usage rate renders as 0.266 / GPU-second only when its own unit says GPU-second (isComfyGpuMetered). Before, every usage rate shown under the "Comfy" accordion did, which included owner-served partner rows (display provider "Comfy" because serving_provider matches the model owner). The "billed per active GPU-second" note now appears only above a table that has a GPU-metered row. metronome-rates.json is not edited.
Per-model notice hook (gen-code-pages.ts): a MODEL_NOTICES map keyed by Router model id, rendered as <Warning> under the intro on curated and derived pages. xai/grok-imagine-image-quality gets a note about its Nov 2, 2026 retirement, linking xAI's migration notice. xai/grok-imagine-image-pro gets the same note, prefixed with its own May 15, 2026 retirement and redirect to grok-imagine-image-quality. Pages were regenerated with bun run code-pages:gen, not hand-edited. Documented in .github/scripts/snippets/README.md.
Partner Node pricing (all 5 locales): the grok-imagine-image-pro edit input changes from 0.422 to 2.11 credits, because -pro is billed as -quality. Output prices stay at today's 14.77. The new post-retirement prices are not in this PR.
Rows whose rendering changed (credits and USD views, all 5 locales)
Every row below was 0.266 / GPU-second ($0.00126066 / GPU-second). In metronome-rates.json each one has unit "variable based on reported usage", except Freepik, which has "varies with image dimensions and scale". None of them is GPU-second.
All of those except Freepik now read "Usage-based / request usage". The "Comfy usage-based rates are billed per active GPU-second" note is removed from the four Comfy usage tables in each currency view.
Judgment calls
The synced rates contain no GPU-second-metered usage rate, so keying on the real unit removes the GPU-second rate from the page entirely. That matches the data and an intermediate commit in the PR that added the rendering ("Only publish GPU-second rates for Router rows with an explicit matching GPU billing source"). The constant and the localized strings stay in place, so the rate comes back on its own once a rate with a GPU-second unit is synced.
Tests: the assertions that expected 0.266 / GPU-second for BFL and Freepik rows are flipped to the usage form. The "GPU-second only for Comfy-default usage rows" test is now "only for rates whose own unit is GPU-second", with unit tests for the predicate. A new regression case asserts that all four xai/grok-imagine-image* ids render the usage form in both currency views.
es partner-pricing hash sync: sync-hash-i18n would also have marked four unrelated stale es blocks (Bria, Ideogram, Meshy, Pixverse) and the es source hash as synced. I restored those block hashes, so among the block hashes only xAI moves and those four blocks stay pending retranslation. The es translationSourceHash is recomputed from the stored block hashes (41ae68c6), which keeps it consistent with them and still different from the English aggregate.
Testing
bun test ./.github/scripts/: 338 pass, 0 fail
bun run router-pricing:gen then bun run router-pricing:check: all 5 locale pricing pages fresh, and no "GPU" string is left on them
bun run code-pages:gen then bun run code-pages:check: 220 pages fresh (28 curated, 192 derived); only the two xAI pages changed
Sync-owned check: passes once the generated pages are fresh
Doc-drift sweep: earlier round 35 references checked, 1 updated (added a "Per-model notices" section to .github/scripts/snippets/README.md). The rest were generic words ("model", "Comfy", "usage") in unrelated docs and OpenAPI text. A targeted grep found no other doc that describes Router usage rows as GPU-second. For the retirement date fix, the sweep showed 37 of 164 references and capped 168 identifiers, mostly locale page paths, so it was not exhaustive. A targeted grep of built-in-nodes and tutorials found no other retirement claim for grok-imagine-image-pro.
Residual
Locale copies of the Router model pages.es/, ja/, ko/ and zh/ copies of development/comfy-router/models/xai/grok-imagine-image-quality/code.mdx and .../grok-imagine-image-pro/code.mdx do not show the retirement note yet. code-pages:gen writes only the English pages, and the locale copies are produced by the separate i18n translation pipeline (zh/ja/ko/es sync PRs), which this PR does not run. The EN source hash changed, so the next i18n sync will pick them up.
Post-retirement Partner Node prices, on or after 2026-11-02 PT only. In tutorials/partner-nodes/pricing.mdx and its es/ja/ko/zh copies, change grok-imagine-image-quality and grok-imagine-image-pro generate to 1K 8.44 and 2K 12.66, and edit to "2.11 input + 8.44" and "2.11 input + 12.66". Fill the -pro 1K cell (it is "—" / "N/A" today), and add the note "Served as grok-imagine-image-2.0 at low quality since Nov 2, 2026." These prices must not be merged before Nov 2, so they are left out of this PR.
Optional, not done: the same retirement note on tutorials/partner-nodes/grok/grok-image-quality.mdx and its locale copies.
Not exercised: the xAI pricing page and the companion Router quote change were taken from the ticket text and not fetched. The Mintlify build and a rendered-page check of the <Warning> were not run locally.
GPU-second rate is no longer shown anywhere on Router pricing. If some Router route really is billed per Comfy GPU-second, its rate in the cloud export needs a GPU-second unit for the rate to show again. That is a cloud data change and is not in this repo.
…ement note
Render the Comfy GPU-second rate only for usage rates whose own unit is
GPU-second. Owner-served partner rows (xAI, BFL, OpenAI, Freepik, OpenRouter,
Tencent) display as "Comfy" but bill provider-reported usage, so they now show
the usage-based form. No synced rate is GPU-second metered today.
Add a per-model notice map to gen-code-pages.ts and use it to flag xAI's
Nov 2, 2026 retirement of grok-imagine-image-quality and -pro.
Fix the grok-imagine-image-pro edit input price on Partner Node pricing
(0.422 -> 2.11 credits); -pro is billed as -quality.

Walkthrough
The change adds xAI model retirement notices to generated and model pages, updates Comfy Router usage-pricing labels in English and translated pages, and raises the partner-node image-edit input charge for grok-imagine-image-pro.

xAI retired grok-imagine-image-pro on May 15, 2026 and it redirects to
grok-imagine-image-quality, which retires on Nov 2, 2026. Give -pro its own
notice and name the model in the -quality one, then regenerate both pages.
Restore the es partner pricing aggregate to match its stored block hashes.
The Bria, Ideogram, Meshy and Pixverse blocks stay pending retranslation.
