# ## Summary Fixes release notes not being generated when tags are created. The root cause was that GitHub Actions workflows triggered using `GITHUB_TOKEN` do not trigger subsequent `release: [created]` events. **Solution:** Changed `claude.yml` to use `workflow_run` trigger instead of `release` trigger, so it runs after the PyPi workflow completes. ## Changes - Changed trigger from `release: [created]` to `workflow_run: workflows: ["PyPi"]` - Added validation step to verify semantic version format (`vX.Y.Z`) and release existence - Added explicit tag fetching (`git fetch --tags`) for reliable git operations - Added `if` conditions to skip steps gracefully when validation fails - Added fallback handling for failure notifications - Closes #199 ## How It Works ``` Tag pushed (v1.2.3) │ ├── pypi.yml runs │ └── Creates GitHub release with empty notes │ └── claude.yml triggers (workflow_run) ├── Validates: PyPi succeeded + tag is vX.Y.Z + release exists ├── Generates release notes with Claude └── Updates GitHub release ``` --------- Co-authored-by: Copilot Autofix powered by AI <62310815+github-advanced-security[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
